Total Eclipse in the Park - Streetsboro

Travel back to 1806 as the last time Ohio witnessed a Total Solar Eclipse. The City of Streetsboro is geared up for a “Total Eclipse in the Park” with a celebration scheduled to take place, Monday April 8, 2024 from 11am-4pm at Streetsboro City Park- 8970 Kirby Lane, Streetsboro.

Many extraordinary events in the community leading up to Eclipse Week include:

• Eclipse      Edition-Pop-Up Book Club- Attention Stephen King fans! To      celebrate the total solar eclipse, we will be having a special pop-up book      club to discuss the horror master's classic, "Dolores      Claiborne." Due to the subject matter of the book, adults only      please. Limited to 20 participants- Wed., April 3, 2024, 4p-5p at the Streetsboro Library (8990 Kirby Lane)
• Teen      Galaxy Crafts Day- Join us to make some      galaxy-themed crafts to celebrate the total solar eclipse. Ages 13-18 Fri.      April 5, 2024, 3p-430p at the Streetsboro      Library (8990 Kirby Lane)
• Jewelry      Making: Solar System Bracelet- Make a solar system bracelet to      celebrate the eclipse! This is a drop-in program for all ages. While      supplies last. Sat. April 6, 2024, 2p-4p at the Streetsboro Library (8990 Kirby Lane)
• Total      Eclipse in the Park Kid’s Crafts- Kids      crafts and educational activities leading to the afternoon Eclipse –      Mon. Join us for an unforgettable experience as we witness the breathtaking “Total Eclipse in the Park.” Members of the Friends of Streetsboro Parks has been selected as a Community Eclipse Ambassador, who has undergone training in eclipse education, basic astronomy, eclipse viewing safety and are equipped with the knowledge to make this event truly special.

Food trucks, live DJ entertainment, children’s craft activities, 88.9FM WSTB live remote broadcasts and free viewing glasses, plus the first 250 people receive free grab bags with Eclipse goodies, glasses and a limited edition Eclipse souvenir treat.

Join the festivities and commemorate this monumental occasion with the Streetsboro official “Total Eclipse in the Park” souvenir t-shirt!  The soft-style Gildan shirt pays homage to the hometown of Streetsboro, featuring a retro rocket with bright, space themed colors of the sun, moon and Earth.
