September is a great time to Experience, Explore & Enjoy Streetsboro and Northeast Ohio! As summer winds down and the first signs of fall begin to appear, the calendar is still packed with festivals, live music, food, art, farmers markets and family-friendly fun.

Whether you're planning a weekend getaway, looking for something fun to do with the family or just ready to welcome a new season, Streetsboro puts you close to plenty of September happenings.

Start the month right here in Streetsboro with Summer Food Truck Night on Thursday, September 10, from 5–8 p.m. at Streetsboro Gateway Green.

Come hungry and enjoy an evening filled with a variety of local food trucks, delicious dinner and dessert options, live music and plenty of time to relax with family and friends. Bring a chair, grab your favorite food and enjoy one more taste of summer right here in Streetsboro.

Music takes over downtown Kent during the Kent Rocks Guitar Fest on Friday, September 11.

Spend the evening exploring downtown while enjoying free live music at locations throughout Kent. With a variety of performers and venues participating, it's a fun opportunity to discover local restaurants and shops while enjoying an evening of great music.

Get ready for a weekend of German traditions at the Akron German Family Society Oktoberfest, located just outside of Streetsboro in Brimfield.

Taking place September 11–13, the celebration brings together German food, music and plenty of Oktoberfest fun. It's an easy addition to a September getaway and another great reason to spend the weekend exploring the area.

Art, music and the outdoors come together during Art in the Park at Fred Fuller Park in Kent.

The free, two-day festival features approximately 100 artists along with food vendors, live music on two stages, interactive art activities and activities especially for kids. The festival runs from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday.

It's a great way to spend a September afternoon strolling through the park, discovering talented artists and enjoying the beginning of the fall season.

Make room for a farmers market stop while you're in the area! Haymaker Farmers' Market in Kent continues its outdoor season on Saturdays throughout September from 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

Shop for locally grown produce along with breads, sweets, meats, eggs, plants, art and more. With fall produce beginning to arrive, September is an especially fun time to browse the market and see what's in season.

Fall wouldn't be complete without a trip to Derthick's Corn Maze in Mantua, just a short drive from Streetsboro!

Beginning in September, visitors can get into the spirit of the season while making their way through the corn maze and enjoying a variety of family-friendly fall attractions. Pick out the perfect pumpkin, take a wagon ride, race down the giant slides, soar along the zip line and grab something tasty to eat while you're there.

With plenty to see and do, Derthick's is an easy way to turn a September afternoon into a full fall adventure—and a perfect addition to a getaway in Streetsboro.

Head to downtown Garrettsville on Saturday, September 19, for the Buckeye Block Oktoberfest.

The event takes place from noon–4 p.m. and adds another festive fall stop to September's lineup. Make an afternoon of it and spend some time exploring Garrettsville while you're there.

One of Portage County's signature fall events returns September 24–27 with the 47th Ravenna Balloon A-Fair!

The festivities begin in downtown Ravenna before moving to the Portage County Fairgrounds for a weekend filled with hot air balloons and entertainment.

Visitors can look forward to parades, live music, food and craft vendors, family activities and plenty of colorful sights. At the fairgrounds, scheduled activities include tethered balloon rides, a balloon night glow, inflatables, helicopter rides, a mechanical bull, monster truck rides, a trackless train and more.

Of course, the hot air balloons are the stars of the weekend, making this a favorite September tradition for visitors of all ages.

Nothing says fall quite like a trip to the orchard!

Monroe's Orchard in Hiram kicks off its Apple Harvest Festival on the last Saturday of September, with additional festival dates continuing into October. It's the perfect time to enjoy the orchard, celebrate apple season and add a little classic fall fun to your visit.
